The DJ who comes in at second place will take home a fantastic Gemini CNTRL-7 USB MIDI DJ Controller as well as a pair of DJX-05 Professional DJ Headphones!

The other two finalists will also be given a pair of Gemini DJX-07 Headphones, and every other DJ who participates in the live heats will take home a pair of Gemini DJX-05 Headphones.

The main competition will take place on stage in the BPM Arena beginning with sixteen contestants competing in four heats to impress a panel of industry experts. During the heats each DJ will have just five minutes to show what they can do behind the decks, before the judges choose a winner to go through to the final. The judges will base their decision on technical ability, music selection and crowd interaction. At the end of the day the grand final will take place on the main stage, with each finalist performing another five minute showcase mix. The judges will then select a runner up and the winner who will become the Gemini Freestyle DJ of the Year 2012!

There are two ways to enter the competition, make it to the final sixteen and compete in the live heats:

1) Online Voting
Online voting has now closed

2) Live Audition
Don’t worry if you fall outside the top twelve after the public vote, as there will be another chance to make it in to the live heats. The remaining four places will be decided on the day of the competition at the Gemini Stand (A15) from 11am to 12:30pm. Simply turn up, show off your skills, and, if the Gemini team like what they see, you could make it in to the final as one of their four wildcard DJs. This opportunity will be open to any DJ (aged 16 or over) attending BPM, including those who were unsuccessful in the online voting. However, there will be a very limited amount of time for each entrant to show what they can do, and the decision of the Gemini staff will be final.
